TWD Statement on Navy Yard Shootings

TWD Statement on Washington Navy Yard Shootings from Larry Besterman, President & CEO, TWD & Associates, Inc.

Arlington, VA – September 17, 2013 – We have received confirmation that a TWD employee, John “J.J.” Johnson, and a TWD subcontractor, Frank Kohler, were among those killed in the Navy Yard shootings. J.J. joined TWD seven years ago, supporting the U.S. Navy’s Program Executive Office (PEO) Littoral and Mine Warfare (now PEO Littoral Combat Ships) where he performed environmental assessments of mine hunting systems. Most recently, he supported the NAVSEA’s Command Information Officer, providing system access requests and other logistical functions. He is survived by a wife and four children.

Frank worked for our subcontractor Information Concepts in Management, LLC and had been on the NAVSEA project just under two years. He supported the NMCI project, ensuring that the enterprise has the computing resources it needs and assisting the command in planning its future desktop computing
requirements.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of our co-workers and friends and everyone affected by yesterday’s horrific events. These were dedicated employees who cared about their work and their colleagues. The senseless violence that claimed their lives cannot erase the memory of their friendship and contributions.
