Rodney K. Martin, J.D.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Dr. Rodney Martin serves as senior vice president, Corporate Development. In this role, he is responsible for assisting the CEO with TWD’s overall strategic direction and the development and implementation of business plans to execute the strategy. Dr. Martin has more than 36 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology (IT) industries, with extensive management expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business development, finance, and operations.

Dr. Martin joined TWD in 2007 as executive director of the Telecommunications Services Division and also served as a business unit VP. Previously, he had spent more than 25 years serving in various C-level executive positions for several technology companies, including 20 years as chief executive officer and founder of HCI Technologies. Under Dr. Martin’s leadership, HCI experienced positive growth with peak annual revenues that exceeded $34 million. Prior to founding HCI, he worked in supervisor and director-level roles for several large companies, including Primark Corporation, Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, Detroit Edison Company, and General Motors.

Dr. Martin holds a bachelor of science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a master of business administration in finance from the University of Detroit, and a juris doctor from Wayne State Law School. He is a member of the Michigan and District of Columbia Bar Associations and serves on the Board of Directors for Second Century Ventures (SCV), a private equity firm that invests in technology companies.
